Why I write first thing in the morning
Small Decision → Big Result
Creating a habit of reading in the morning has massively improved my life satisfaction over the past few months. The reason for its huge impact on me is twofold:
The in-the-moment enjoyment of reading. Creativity, expanded perspective, yadayada — I just like it.
It makes it easier to make more good decisions.
Spending my most valuable resources (time, attention) during their most valuable period (morning) on something that I intrinsically enjoy helps me identify more with my authentic self and less with my ego. Being less attached to “Work Tyler” means that I don’t feel as threatened when the workday doesn’t go as planned, which means that I don’t take away time from my well-being in a desperate attempt to rescue my work progress.
I love it when small actions lead to big improvements. Do you have an example of this in your life? Reply and tell me about it.
Until next week,
Tyler
